Legal Agreements

I understand and acknowledge that the rented Volts-Wagen vehicle is strictly prohibited from crossing the United States–Mexico international border or entering Mexico under any circumstances during the rental period. Taking the vehicle into Mexico is a material breach of this rental agreement and will immediately void all insurance coverage and protections afforded under this agreement. The renter accepts full personal liability for any consequences, damages, fees, impoundment, legal proceedings, or losses that occur as a result of unauthorized cross-border travel. Volts-Wagen Rentals reserves the right to recover the full replacement value of the vehicle, all associated legal and recovery costs, and any other expenses incurred as a direct result of the renter's violation of this clause. The vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, and Volts-Wagen Rentals will be immediately notified of any border crossing attempt.

I acknowledge and consent to the fact that this vehicle is equipped with on-board cameras that record continuously throughout the duration of the rental period, both inside and outside the vehicle. Recording begins when the vehicle is accessed and continues until it is returned. By agreeing to this clause, I hereby SURRENDER ALL RIGHTS to any and all recordings, footage, images, audio, or other content captured by the on-board cameras during my rental period. I grant Volts-Wagen Rentals an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, distribute, edit, publish, and display any such recordings and content in any manner they choose, including but not limited to: • Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) • Advertising and promotional materials • Website and marketing campaigns • Press, editorial, and public relations I confirm that I have informed all passengers of the continuous recording and that they have each consented to being filmed and to the above content rights assignment. I waive any claim to compensation, royalties, or approval rights related to the use of this content by Volts-Wagen Rentals.

I understand and acknowledge that my personal automobile insurance policy is the PRIMARY insurance coverage for this rental. In the event of an accident, collision, theft, or any damage to the rented Volts-Wagen vehicle, my personal insurance will be the first source of coverage and will be responsible for initial claims processing and payment. Only after my personal insurance coverage has been fully exhausted will the Volts-Wagen Rentals insurance policy serve as secondary coverage. I accept full responsibility for any deductibles, co-pays, or costs not covered by my personal insurance policy. I confirm that I have valid, current automobile insurance in effect for the duration of this rental period. Volts-Wagen Rentals reserves the right to seek reimbursement directly from the renter for any costs not covered by the renter's personal insurance.

Volts-Wagen Rentals is NOT responsible or liable for any incidents, accidents, injuries, damages, or losses caused by or involving unauthorized drivers. Only the individual(s) listed on the rental agreement are authorized to operate the rented vehicle. Allowing an unauthorized person to drive the vehicle is a material breach of this rental agreement and may void all insurance coverage. The registered renter accepts full personal and financial liability for any unauthorized use of the vehicle during the rental period. Volts-Wagen Rentals shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from unauthorized operation, including but not limited to: property damage, bodily injury, traffic violations, towing fees, or legal proceedings.

Volts-Wagen Rentals is NOT liable for any injuries, damages, incidents, or legal consequences resulting from unsafe behavior by the driver or any passengers during the rental period. Unsafe behavior includes, but is not limited to: speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances, standing through the sunroof or windows while the vehicle is in motion, failure to wear seatbelts, overloading the vehicle beyond capacity, use of the vehicle off-road or in conditions for which it was not designed, and any activity that violates local, state, or federal law. The renter agrees to ensure all passengers comply with all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations throughout the duration of the rental. Any incidents resulting from unsafe conduct are the sole responsibility of the renter.

I acknowledge and understand that the vehicle I am renting is a VINTAGE/CLASSIC Volkswagen bus that is considerably older than modern vehicles. As such, this vehicle was manufactured before many current automotive safety standards, regulations, and technologies were developed or required. I understand that: • Modern crash test ratings and safety standards DO NOT apply to this vehicle • The vehicle may lack modern safety features such as airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control, modern crumple zones, or side-impact protection • Seatbelt systems may differ from modern standards • The structural integrity and crash protection of this vintage vehicle is substantially different from — and may be inferior to — modern vehicles I confirm that I have been informed of these risks, that I accept these risks for myself, and that I have PERSONALLY EXPLAINED AND COMMUNICATED these risks to ALL passengers who will be riding in this vehicle during the rental period. All passengers have been made aware and have consented to ride in this vintage vehicle understanding its safety limitations.
